Our Network of Smallholder Farmers Across Uganda
Our coffee begins with the smallholder farmers who grow it. Located in Uganda’s rich, fertile regions near the equator, these farmers have cultivated coffee for generations, perfecting their craft over time. Coffee Song partners with farmers who grow their coffee with care, using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices to ensure a product that’s as good for the planet as it is for your taste buds.
In partnership with Celebrate Hope Ministries in Rakai Region of Uganda, we support over 4000 farmers directly. These farmers are supported from the initiation of their coffee gardens with seedlings, hoes, agricultural and agribusiness trainings, and all amenities to help them grow their coffee. Started in 2010, it has been 14 years of steadily building community poverty alleviation programs. We are proud of the journey walked thus far.
We work directly with these farmers to provide them with fair compensation above the market rate, which allows them to reinvest in their farms and communities. We have accordingly deigned financial inclusion systems with local banking programs to help farmers not only get their money in time but also get soft loans, save funds and plan better for their lives. This partnership empowers farmers to grow their businesses while promoting local economic development. Our approach is holistic.
